Day 1: Arrival, walking tour of Ponta Delgada

Arrival at Ponta Delgada Airport, transfer to hotel. Meet and greet with guide. After check in, we begin our discovery of the island with a tour of its capital, Ponta Delgada. Stoll through the colorful alleys and streets. A perfect chance to try some renowned well brewed coffee and Quijada (local cheesecake). Visit landmarks like the city gates and charming botanical gardens.

Day 2: Whale and Dolphin watching

After breakfast free morning to stoll around the streets of Ponta Delgada. After lunch we hop on a boat and explore the seas for some Whale & Dolphin watching. The Azores are renowned as one of the best spots for Whale watching in the whole Atlantic.

Day 3: Visit to the lush green Northeast of Sao Miguel

In the morning we head north and visit the Ribeira Das Caldeiroas Natural Park. This lush green park filled with streams, watermills and a botanical garden that takes one aback. To an ambience of Jurassic park, with its mighty ferns and other ancient plants. Afterwards we pass through the village of Nordeste and head towards the viewpoints of Ponta do Sossego and Ponta da Madrugada. Stop for lunch in the village of Povocao with a chance to enjoy one of the local fish delicacies. Onwards free time to stroll around the historic village quarter or relax by the sea. Returning on our way back we take the scenic southern coastal route.

Day 4: Visit to a Pineapple Plantation and the Hot Springs of Furnas.

Free morning to stroll around charming Ponta Delgada. After lunch we head to a Pineapple Plantation and discover how this tropical fruit is grown. With a chance to try some homemade Pineapple Liquor. Afterwards we head to Furnas. Home of the thermal springs of the island. Enjoy a walk around the Terra Nostra Gardens and then visit one of the springs to see how the Cozido Stew (our soon to be dinner is cooked). After dinner, what better way to finish the day than to bathe in the hotsprings next door of Dona Beija. A great way to finish the night.

Day 5: Visit to the Lago da las Sete Cuidades Crater and Tea Plantation

After breakfast, we head west towards the Lago da Las Siete Cuidades. Two stunning lakes situated at the bottom of a volcano crater. We enjoy a walk down with picturesque views of the dormant volcano crater. After lunch we head to Europe´s oldest Tea Plantation, try some organically grown tea and discover how this world famous drink is cultivated.

Day 6: Departure

Check out and transfer back to Ponta Delgada Airport
